Based on the recently revealed Rapid Sport Concept shown at the Worthersee, our friend Theophilus Chin has rendered a production Rapid RS model. It's a little over the top in places, but this only goes to show that we need a car like this.
The Rapid sedan was designed to be affordable and practical, so we could be tempted to think a hot version is impossible. However, the same could be said about the Fabia, which has class-leading interior space.
Adding sports suspension shouldn't be a problem, but what engine should power the middle member of the RS family? One solution would be the Twincharger 1.4-liter from the Fabia RS. Another would be to use either a turbo 1.8-liter TSI, either from the previous generation or the newer EA888 family.
