We aren’t sure that this video that surfaced on the internet is a genuine advertisement for the car, intended for public showing, as it is, honestly, way too boring, and the qualit itself is very poor. The Skoda Rapid was officially launched yesterday, and it will sit in the manufacturer’s range between the Fabia and Octavia.
It also shows Skoda’s (rather bland) new design language, which will be carried over to new versions of their other models. Everything is very rectangular and straight, making the car look somewhat unnatural, for some reason. It doesn’t look bad, but we were hoping for something more.
Hopefully, we’ll have a proper ad for the car revealed soon, one that will do it justice and maybe make us like it more, because now, we’d only recommend it based on Skoda’s excellent reliability and service track record which is present in all their cars, even this one, the new Rapid - the name is also bad for a car like this. Who wants an ironically-named car?
