Skoda is doing very well in China, so well, in fact, that it has become the Czech manufacturer’s number one world market. Also, as far as production plans go, the Yeti was already set to enter Chinese production, with the deal with Shanghai VW having been signed back in 2010.
However, sources say that the Chinese Yeti will be different to its Euro counterpart, being larger and boasting more interior space, as well as special features specially designed for the local market. It will be joined on the production line by the recently-revealed Rapid compact sedan, which will sit in-between the Fabia and Octavia, within the range.

Things are looking up for Skoda in China, as they also want to expand their dealer network from the current 390 to around 550 to have but a chance to reach their sales goal of 500,000 units by 2020.
