Skoda Produced 14 Millionth Car

With this brand new Superb 2.0 TDI in the ‘Laurin & Klement’ special edition, the Skoda brand has now produced its 14 millionth car across its rich company history. The estate that rolled off the line at the Czech plant at Kvasiny today was finished in the color ‘magnetic brown metallic’ and is designated for delivery to a German customer.

This is yet another indication that Skoda is on its way to achieving its target of 1.5 million annual sales by 2018. Last year alone, they delivered 879,200 vehicles, more than in any other year of the company’s 117-year lifespan.

“This jubilee is an impressive expression of our growth strategy,” says SKODA chairman of the board, Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland. “We are expanding at a high speed. Almost two thirds of the 14 million cars built by the company were produced and sold in the past 20 years, four million of which were produced in the past 5 years alone.”

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
