Together with the already-popular Yeti SUV recently announced by the Czech manufacturer, Skoda also gave us a glimpse into how the next vRS model will look like this week at the Geneva Auto Show. Skoda displayed the so-called Fabia Sport Design Concept at Geneva, a model that features several aesthetic improvements that may be also installed on the future vRS sporty model expected to arrive in approximately 12 months.
Even though there's no official press release of statement regarding the features of the concept displayed at Geneva, imotormag.co.uk writes that the vRS may be powered by a 1.4-liter turbo and supercharged Volkswagen engine upgraded to provide a maximum output of around 180 horsepower. As said, there's only pure speculation, but a future official statement should set things straight.
As you can see for yourself in the photos attached to the article, the Fabia Sport Design Concept looks indeed sportier than the base Fabia, with two-tone paint job, redesigned front and rear bumpers plus black-painted alloy wheels contributed to the aggressive appearance. Interiors have been upgraded as well, with two-tone leather, sports steering wheel plus aluminum racing pedals.
Powered by a fairly-powerful Volkswagen engine and expected to be quite affordable, the Skoda Fabia vRS may become a strong competitor for VW's Polo GTI within the next 12 months. More importantly, the vRS will likely feature a less-polluting and very low fuel consumption engine which will surely tip the balance in favor of the Czech automaker.
