Skoda Fabia Scout Warms Up for Geneva

It seems like the upcoming Geneva Motor Show is going to be a fairly special event for Czech manufacturer Skoda as the company will debut several new models expected to hit the streets this year. While Skoda has already confirmed that Geneva will showcase the global premiere of the VW Tiguan-based Yeti, rumors are now claiming that the company will also display the newly-designed Fabia Scout.

Skoda Fabia Scout first saw daylight two years ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show and only a little was know about the concept. However, it seems like the Czechs are now aiming to bring the Scout to life at one of the biggest shows of the year.

Details are quite sketchy at this point, but we do know know that Scout is a “reincarnated” version of Fabia Wagon that features slight aesthetic changes, including the grey plastic sides you can see by yourself in
the adjacent photos. Skoda also raised the ground clearance, which resulted in new bumpers on both the front and the rear, according to information provided by autoblog.it.

Unfortunately, there's no information on the engines to be used by the Scout, but the aforementioned source alleged that Skoda will probably opt for three gasoline and three TDI engines, already available on the models included in the current Fabia range. As expected, this new model will share a lot of parts with Fabia Wagon, so expect to see a pretty similar interior, probably featuring a few slight modifications.

Aside from this, recent rumors surrounding the Czech car manufacturer claim the company already rolled out the first Yeti model at the Kvasiny plant, with the official debut scheduled for Geneva. This may also give us a glimpse into Skoda's short-term plans, as the company seems to be ready for mass-production of this four-wheel drive small SUV.
