Back in August 2011, Skoda officials announced that 10 Octavia estate-based Green E Line units would be built for testing purposes and for the evaluation of viability of such a drivetrain.
All of the 10 cars have now travelled more than 50,000 km (31,250 miles) and, of the 3,000 reported requests for one, Skoda have now given one of the EVs to one of their employees, Libor Kuzel, for rear world testing for the next six months. Libor and his family will be using the car as their daily means of transportation, taking full advantage of its 150 Km (90 mile) range, while the 116 hp and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) will move the estate along with ease.

The VW group seems to have big plans with EVs, as each of their sub-brands, except Porsche, will be offering an all-electric vehicle within the next few years, with the Golf EV and Audi A3 EV expected to be the first on the market, in 2015.
