Skoda Continues Growth in the UK

Skoda is one of the manufacturers that did impressively well in November, with official figures pointing to an increase in UK demand by 45.3 percent year-on-year. The Czech manufacturer sold a total of 2,511 Skoda cars last month, with Fabia remaining the most popular model, closely followed by Octavia.

Worldwide, Skoda delivered a total of 55,460 units in November, which represents an increase of 26 percent compared to the same period of 2008. China obviously represented one of the largest markets as it accounted 11,000 units, an increase of 172.8 percent.

In other news, Skoda recently introduced the Superb Estate in the UK, a model that is expected to be quite attractive to British buyers. In terms of pricing, the entry level Superb Estate S, equipped with the 1.4 TSI 125 hp engine, starts at £17,715 OTR

The Superb Estate will be available in three different trim levels - S, SE and Elegance. If you decide to get one, you should know that the car comes with a range of six engines. You can opt for three petrol engines: the 1.4 TSI with 125 hp, the 1.8TSI with 160 hp and the 3.6 VR6 with 260 hp.

If you prefer diesel, the Superb Estate comes with the 1.9 TDI PD which produces 105 hp, the 2.0 TDI CR which produces 140 hp and the 2.0 TDI CR which produces 170 hp. An all-wheel-drive transmission is available for the 1.8 TFSI, the 2.0 TDI with 170 bhp and the 3.6 VR6 engines.

In the United Kingdom, the Skoda Superb Estate will go on sale on February 26, 2010.
