Skoda Builds International Service Training Centre in Czech Republic

Czech automaker Skoda Auto is further strengthening its brand awareness strategy by laying the foundation stone of an International Training Centre in Kosmonosy, near its Mladá Boleslav headquarters.

“With the new training centre, the company will strengthen the competence of its worldwide sales partners and continue to expand its role as an internationally important automobile manufacturer,” a company statement reads.

The new centre will provide technology and processes, management and organisation, as well as IT training for up to 200 Skoda sales partners per day. The main focus will be the immediate implementation of the acquired knowledge in their respective dealerships.

“Qualified and modern training facilities for our partners are crucial for the worldwide success of the Skoda brand,”
said Jürgen Stackmann, board member of Skoda Auto for the Sales and Marketing Department.

“The know-how and competence of employees at car dealerships have a direct influence on customer satisfaction. Our investment in the quality of the Skoda partners, in their personal qualifications and those of their employees is an important contribution to the growth strategy of our company,” added Stackmann.

Skoda board members and local dignitaries laid the foundation stone for the future training centre. The total investment is of CZK167 million (approx. EUR6.8 million), with the European Union structural funds to co-finance the project with up to CZK67 million (approx. EUR2.7 million).

Skoda became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group in 2000. It has been named Which? Best car manufacturer of the year 2010 and has been in the top ten in the JD Power Survey of Customer Satisfaction for the past 17 years.
