Skoda Announces Production of 4 Millionth Octavia

The Skoda factory at Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic has just celebrated the production of Octavia number 4,000,000.
Since its launch in 1996, the Skoda best-seller has been presented in a total of three generations. The latest was revealed last year and went into production based on a new modular architecture from Volkswagen Group.

Since its launch, the Octavia has seen many variants being launched, from the sporty vRS to the excellent estate version. It has also become succcessful in the international market, now being produced in India, Russia, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine and starting in 2014, China as well.

"The four millionth manufactured Octavia - an impressive number represents the great success of this model and the brand," says Chairman of the Board of Skoda, Prof.. Dr. H.C. Winfried Vahland. "As a core model, Octavia decisively influenced the development of excellent Skoda car company and made it what it is today: an internationally successful manufacturer, represented in more than 100 markets worldwide. With the third generation, this success continues. The new Octavia with its typical genes again hits the mark. It is the largest, most practical, safest, most comfortable, lightest and greenest Octavia of all time."
