Sirius as Standard on All MINI Models

Customers who will purchase a MINI vehicle next year will be in for a treat, as the manufacturer announced that starting next year it would offer Sirius as standard equipment. The system will be offered an introductory one-year subscription to the Sirius Everything package.

"We are very excited to offer SIRIUS as standard equipment on 2011 MINI vehicles, as it ensures that every MINI includes a well-rounded selection of in-car entertainment options," said Jim McDowell, MINI USA vice president.

"Sirius is fully integrated into all three of the MINI infotainment options, and allows MINI owners to further personalize their MINI driving experience at the push of a button.
"

The Sirius Everything package includes 135 channels of premier sports, news, talk, entertainment and commercial-free music, as well as traffic and weather information. It will be offered on 2011 MINI Hardtop, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman. After the introductory one-year subscription expires, the system will be available at standard rates.

"MINI drivers appreciate efficient performance and value, and now all new MINI owners will be able to enjoy SIRIUS with its broad range of diverse content," added Steve Cook, Group vice president and general manager, Automotive Division, SIRIUS XM Radio.

"By including a one-year introductory subscription, MINI drivers can enjoy the best in-vehicle audio entertainment beginning with the first time they start-up their new vehicles."

Earlier this month, the same Sirius Everything was unveiled for the pre-owned Kia vehicles sold in the US. Sirius is now one of the most powerful satellite radio company, being part of the vehicles offered by several major car manufacturers.
