Sinister Industries is a name well known among those who value choppers with breathtaking looks and raw, brutal power. Yet few know that Sinister Industries use a special type of urethane for their motorcycles, a plastic so hard and resilient, that hitting it with a hammer won't do any damage.
While most of the fairing present on a bike is made of either fiberglass or metal, Sinister Industries creations come with this special urethane panels. When crashing a chopper or even when dropping it in the parking lot, the front cowl and side bags will be damaged. Well, if they're fiberglass, they would, but not in case they're made by Sinister Industries.
Watch John Shope of Sinister Industries demonstrating how tough these urethane polymer parts can be in comparison with traditional fiberglass elements. Now, We'd sincerely wish that all bikes had such wonderful components, but so far it looks like Sinister Industries are the only ones willing to load their gear with this material.
Of course, should this urethane become that common, the sales for replacement fairings and other components would plunge, some complain. Nice job, Sinister!
