With so many companies touting the very best electric pickup trucks, it’s clear that legacy automakers need to join the party without looking back. We already know Ford is developing a fully electric F-150, and General Motors doesn’t want to sit on the bench without at least teasing a Silverado-like electric pickup truck.
Internally nicknamed as the “BET Truck” for the moment, the upcoming battery-equipped model was an integral part of the recent announcements General Motors delivered in November at the Barclays Global Automotive Conference.

With no fewer than 30 electric vehicles promised to arrive before 2025, GM was right to fear the Chevrolet Silverado-like EV pickup truck might get lost in translation, so it made sure it was present in the background alongside its officials - check out the teaser in the video embedded below, as well as the screenshots we uploaded in the gallery up above.

Because such teasers are great for virtual artists with Photoshop skills, we also have the accompanying render from TopElectricSUV.com to potentially further spill the beans and leave little (if nothing) to our imagination.

We can expect new teasers and accompanying renders for the Chevrolet BET Truck going forward, as we have a suspicion that General Motors will introduce the new model sooner rather than later, perhaps alongside the upcoming 2022 Bolt facelift or the Bolt EUV.

Of course, the rather futuristic design seen here in CGI form most likely belongs to a near-production prototype – the vehicle seen on stage accompanying the GM officials, the GMC Hummer EV and the upcoming Equinox-sized electric crossover appeared to be a full-size clay model.

So far, the only model officially revealed is the 2022 GMC Hummer EV – yes, another pickup truck. As far as we can tell, given the Silverado-inspired dimensions, we can safely assume the Chevrolet BET Truck will also make use of the group’s Ultium batteries.

No technical details have been advanced, but the 2019 Sustainability Report did reference the bowtie brand’s first electric full-size pickup as being capable of reaching “400+ miles of range on a single charge.”
