Sidi Debuts Special Edition 50th Anniversary Boots

One of the most important biking shoes manufacturer, Italian company Sidi, marked its 50th anniversary by launching a special edition model, which has been confirmed as the top of the line in the 2010 Collection. “On the track and on the road, the limited edition Vortice Vernice 50 Edition is an authentic collector's item made especially to mark the 50th anniversary of Sidi Sport,” a company statement reads.

Dubbed Vortice Vernice 50 Edition, these anniversary racing boots are finished in shiny black with golden inserts, highlighted on the front, the back calf and the tongue.

Moreover, these boots also feature the Sidi swirl and the Italian flag tri-colors. The boots will come in an attractive packaging, that contains all the technical information relating to the product and a brochure that recalls Sidi's 50 year history.

Sidi started in 1960 as an artisans' workshop for sports shoes. Champions like Loris Capirossi, Colin Edwards, Chris Vermeulen, Alvaro Bautista, Hiroshi Aoyama, Andrew Pitt and Anthony West have all worn Sidi so far.

“From the pioneering Grand Prix model to the latest generation Vortice for on road and Crossfire for off-road, the secret to Sidi continues to be found in its technology, design and comfort; They've enjoyed 50 years of passion and great victories in the service of the sport,” the manufacturer says.

The Sidi limited edition will be available starting June in sizes 39 to 48 and will wear a price tag of $450.
