Like we weren’t wasting several nights already playing the sequel of Microsoft’s open-world racing game already, the company released the Fast and Furious extension the other day and it’s available for free. What’s even better, the standalone expansion promoting the launch of Furious 7 has even integrated some of the cars present in the long-awaited action film.
If you’re a true petrolhead there are almost null chances you haven’t heard of the game. Sure, it’s been some time since last year’s September release, but that doesn’t mean a bit of marketing refresh will harm anybody. So Microsoft decided to partner up with the people over at Universal Studios and seal a deal that people in the industry call a win-win situation.

For the first time ever, the Forza experience of thrilling driving and amazing cars is combining with the unstoppable Fast & Furious movie franchise to create an original adventure filled with high-speed automotive action,” Xbox explains.

The partnership is obviously connected to the official theatrical launch of the seventh installment of the fast-car-chasing saga, planned for April 3. The standalone expansion will be available at no charge of a limited two-week period. According to the company, players can download the expansion on Xbox One or Xbox 360 for free, from March 27 through April 10.

Even though after that people will need to pay for the Fast & Furious cars, the expansion will cost 10 bucks, which is not that much to be honest. However, players who downloaded it during the initial two-week window can continue to play without restriction.

We haven’t had the time to experience the extension, but feel free to tell us your opinion about it in the comments section below in case you have.
