Even though 2016 is still far, there are some things in MotoGP which are boiling, and not in a good way. Namely, is the presumed new regulation which will make spec Magneti Marelli software mandatory for the entire grid. And Honda Racing Corporation is not at all happy with this.
I wrote an editorial on this affair some weeks ago, pondering between the losses and the gains Honda will have in case the regulation becomes effective. Still HRC's Shuhei Nakamoto is reiterating that Honda WILL leave the premiere class if spec software becomes mandatory.

Just like before, Nakamoto-san expresses the manufacturer's point of view on technological development, and adds that Honda is in MotoGP not only for the sake of racing, but to develop bikes and then transpose these developments onto street models.

With a spec ECU and spec software, the main goal for Honda - development - becomes impossible, and nulls the drive for a MotoGP presence, the HRC official says.

Dorna is aiming to make the series more attractive by trying to level out performance and technical differences and capping the costs, but it looks like this approach is not what Honda wants.

It looks like things are going to get rougher... and only time will tell which way MotoGP is going.
