Shoei Launched the New XR110 Helmet

The Japanese premium helmet manufacturer Shoei has recently launched its new XR1100 helmet to members of the world's press in Barcelona, Spain. The new sport-touring helmet will be replacing the already successful XR1000, featuring improved ventilation, visibility, aerodynamics and comfort.

The new XR1100 will be available in several plain colours and in a range of decors and graphics starting September this year, at a price similar to the one of the XR1000 model, MCN revealed.

The helmet comes with a new visor mechanism, featuring a suction seal concept to guarantee it is completely draft free. The visor, in comparison with the XR1000, has been enlarged to give a broader field of vision, as well as a modified and enlarged pin lock visor.

Shoei has used a special extraction technology that improves the ventilation system. It incorporates a negative pressure system that allows an effective and continuous discharge of warm air even at low speeds.

Inlets include adjustable vents on the chin (with defroster), on the brow (2 vents) and on the back (4 outlet vents) make optimum climate control a child's play, as well as a special ventilation duct layout minimizes ventilation noise.

The Japanese manufacturer also worked on the improved aerodynamics, and perfected it in several laboratory and road tests. Sophisticated spoilers are integrated in the shell to optimize air flows, making the helmet extremely stable even at high speeds.

Thanks to its low-drag design, and the compact profile, the helmet is quite effective at reducing wind noise.

The interior was redesigned to enhance XR1100 wearer comfort. The helmet offers a 3D centre pad which comfortably encases the head. The centre pad, cheek pads and chin strap are all detachable and washable.
