SHARK Racer-R Helmet Range Arrives at UK Dealers

French helmet manufacturer SHARK announced its much awaited Race-R series has started hitting UK dealers from next week. The Race-R Pro and Race-R are to replace the popular RSR2 helmets at the top of SHARK's range, with completely new shells and a brand new look.

The Race-R Pro has been created and developed with SHARK’s supported racers in mind, including Randy de Puniet, Scott Redding, Tom Sykes and current British Supersport Champion Sam Lowes.

The Race-R is derived from the Race-R Pro. The main difference between the two helmets is that the Race-R Pro has a double blade spoiler to help with aerodynamics when at high speeds. The Race-R Pro is also much lighter due to the carbon and other light weight/high strength fibres used in the construction.

Both helmets offer an impressive optically correct field of vision thanks to the varied thickness of the visor, 4.25mm thickness in the middle to 3mm at the sides. Compared with common visor apertures, the Vision-R gives 25 percent more global vertical vision and 10 percent more horizontal vision. There are four anchor safety lock points on the visor, also anti-scratch and anti-fog coatings.

“With safety at the forefront of all SHARK helmets, the Race-R range has been awarded five-out-of-five stars in the latest SHARP rating scheme which was recently released,”
the company brags in a statement from the press.

The range is available in a variety of colors - renowned with SHARK designs – double-D chin fastening, with a magnetic strap end, five year warranty and weighing from just 1250 grams. These helmets also support SHARK’s new Bluetooth device SHARK-Tooth.
