Shakedown Explains How the Z4 GT3 Is Turned into a GTE Car

Before the Monterey event took place at Laguna Seca, Shakedown's Leo Parente went inside the BMW Team RLL's garage to check out their Z4 cars and how they are prepared for the event.

Since these cars also race in the GT3 events, Leo explained just how the team manages to transform the Z4 in such little time. Well, it's all about aerodynamics. The GTE car is more efficient from this point of view.

It is wider and has a lot of new features that can be actually bolted on the car and then taken off for different types of races. Other changes include the new tires and wheels (Michelin for the ALMS Series) and the suspension.

Even though the suspension is not changed between races, for the GTE version it is heavily modified to conform with the regulations of the American Le Mans Series. For more info, watch Leo explain everything in the clip below.
