Setra Buses for Medenbach

German manufacturer Daimler is continuing to expand one of its strongest growing businesses by announcing today a new contract signed with Hessian company Medenbach traffic.

The biggest investment in Medenbach's history will translate into 15 Setra model S 415 UL rural service buses being delivered by Daimler. The financial aspects of the new deal have not been made public by the parties involved.

“In order to provide highly professional services in the local public transport sector, our choice fell on Setra buses, since they meet our quality standards in every respect,” said Peter Medenbach, the CEO of the company with the same name.

The buses will be delivered by Daimler is MultiClass guise and will be used on two local bus line bundles in the Taunus area. The buses will comes as both vertical and with raked windscreen models, equipped with a lift to enable the access of mobility-impaired passengers and with full complement of seats.

“You and your team have made a powerful statement and convincingly demonstrated that a private company can be successful in a call for tenders even for large bus line bundles,” added Heinz Friedrich from Daimler.

The Setra was slammed earlier this year with the Top Standard Coach of the Year” award by the UK Coach Rally. All the Setra buses have been found earlier this year to be capable of meeting the requirements of the European Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicle emissions standards. Vehicles that comply with the EEV standard benefit from lower toll rates in transit countries, such as Austria.
