See Van Damme Do The Epic Split in Friggin' Space

It was supposed to happen sooner or later, you have to admit it. Someone actually made the parodies of parodies when it comes to Jean-Claude Van Damme's epic split from the Volvo Trucks commercial that we featured last Fall.

If you haven't been living under a rock that blocks Wi-Fi signals in the last four months or so, you probably know that the original commercial on YouTube depicted Jean-Claude Camille François Van Varenberg (his real and not so easy to remember name, ed) doing the splits between two Volvo trucks.

With one foot on the mirror of a semi-trailer truck and the other one on a normal cargo truck, both of them going backwards and slowly moving away from each other, you can guess why it was called the “epic split.”

Since then, this so-called “epic split” has been parodied countless times, with one of the funniest and well-done videos showing none other than Van Damme's The Expendables co-star, Chuck Norris. Okay, a 3d rendering of him, even though we're sure that good old Chuck was the one who taught the “Kickboxer” all his moves.

“Now I stand here before you. What you see is a body crafted to perfection. A pair of legs engineered to defy the laws of physics and a mindset to master the most epic of splits.” was Van Damme's original tag line during the video.

The following epic split parody is back at using Jean-Claude Van Damme, including his voice from the original Volvo commercial, only this time we see a rendering of the Belgian actor doing the splits in space, dressed as an astronaut and with his feet perched between two satellites.

If this isn't the most epic of splits, even if it didn't actually happen for real, then we don't know what is.
