From what we gather, the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe in the following video is bone stock, which only makes its performance in the quarter mile at an Australian drag strip the more impressive.
We don't know if it's the “regular” model or the one with Performance Package, which would obviously make a difference since the PP adds 30 hp and a limited slip differential, but a low 12-second quarter mile time for either of the versions is much closer to “awesome” than to “meh,” right?
As you know the C 63 AMG - in either sedan, station wagon or coupe form - is powered by a bonkers 6.2-liter normally-aspirated V8 - internally named the M156 - which was developed completely in house by the AMG nutters in Affalterbach and is not based on any Mercedes-Benz engines.
In the C 63 AMG it provides either 457 hp or 487 hp - depending on the presence of the Performance Package option - and 600 Nm (443 lb ft) of torque. If it's not obvious by now from the countless articles about this legendary engine, we're kind of like its biggest fanboys.
