Earlier on today we showed you a David and Goliath kind of exhaust battle between two members of the Mercedes-Benz sedan family: a non-facelift C 63 AMG compared to an E 500 W212 facelift.
Apart from the fact that they're both Mercedes-Benz sedans with rear-wheel drive and a large V8 upfront, there aren't much similarities between the two cars, especially when talking about the sound that their exhausts make.

The Mercedes-Benz E 500 is pretty much the epitome of a wolf in sheep's clothing, especially looking at the performance that its twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 engine brings.

The 408 hp (402 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb ft) of torque are enough to give the E 500 an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds.

The C 63 AMG, on the other hand, is like a wolf in wolf's clothing, with the AMG bodykit clearly announcing that this isn't your father's C 200 CDI.

Powered by an epic 6.2-liter normally-aspirated engine with 457 hp (451 bhp) and also 600 Nm (453 lb ft) of torque, the non-facelift Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in just 4.5 seconds.

Will that be enough to completely obliterate the E 500 in an impromptu drag race? Yes and no, as seen in the following video, where the C 63 AMG seems to have launched like a city bus instead of a car that's drag racing.
