Actually, the title is a bit misleading since the following video consists of two drag races between the two cars actually, and the CLS 550 4Matic only keeps up with the Caddie in the second one.
That's because in the first race it not only keeps up with the Caddie, it actually beats the CTS-V by almost 0.2 seconds!
Let's see with what cars we are dealing with before we jump to conclusions though. A stock Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 4Matic (C218) has a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 that offers 408 hp (402 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb ft) of torque. It can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in 4.0 seconds.
The Caddie, as you may know, has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 556 hp and 747 Nm (551 lb ft) of torque and can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds.
Normally, a stock Cadillac CTS-V would wipe the floor with the Benz, but the CLS 4Matic in the following drag racing video has an ECU tune which apparently ups its horsepower to 500 stallions. Is that enough to measure its muscles against the Cadillac? Watch the following video and find out.
