It’s been only four weeks since the first Tesla Model S caught fire following a highway crash, and a second video showing a Palo Alto-built electric car engulfed in flames surfaced the Internet.
This new crash occurred in Mexico, in the northern Yucatan Peninsula, and reports claim it’s already ten days old. According to local media, the vehicle was speeding when it hit a raised pedestrian crossing, which sent it flying into a wall and a tree. There’s no info on might have caused the fire at the time of writing, but it appears the drivers escaped unscathed and fled from the scene.
As we’ve reported earlier this month, Tesla avoided being probed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after the first fire. We have a feeling that’s about to change pretty soon. Either way, we’ll be right back as soon as Tesla releases their statement related to the Mexico crash.
