With a history going back more than 30 years, tire manufacturer Dunlop and bike builders Harley-Davidson have worked hand in hand to take the tire industry to new, higher levels. Now it's time to announce the second generation of the American Elite tires developed for the Harley-Davidson FL tourers.
The greatest upgrade for the new American Elites is the MT Multi-Tread technology, enhancing both mileage and at the same time offering better cornering. While most long-mileage tires involve a harder compound which tends to reduce traction during turns, Dunlop's Multi-Tread technology involves using two separate compounds in the same tire.
A harder one is used on the center of the tread, providing better mileage for straight line running, with a softer one on the outer sector of the tread for increased grip when the bike leans in a turn.
The American Elite tires are all-round performance-specced and come in three design flavors: with a black sidewall, narrow white bar sidewall and wide white wall. Check with Dunlop or your nearest dealer for availability and application details.
