Sebastien Loeb Test-Drives Citroen DS3 WRC

Although he was initially all against the 2011 technical regulations for the World Rally Championship – the inclusion of 1.6 turbo engines, as well as the mandatory S2000 platform for the rally cars – reigning WRC champion Sebastien Loeb had no other choice but to get behind the wheel of the new Citroen DS3 WRC car and test drive it on the gravel roads of southern France.

Of course, the fact that Loeb test drove the new DS3 WRC car in January is no news to anyone, as several media in France have already covered the subject more than 2 weeks ago. What we are now bringing you is the first video of the DS3 test session, with the very Loeb – co-driven by Daniel Elena – driving it.

For those of you who are still not very familiar with Citroen's DS3 WRC, know that this is the machine that will replace the title-winning Citroen C4 WRC starting the 2011 edition of the championship. The car will use a 1.6 turbocharged unit which, according to the Frenchman himself, “will give it enough power though there will be less torque.”

During the testing session shown in the video, it wasn't only Loeb that test-drove the newly-designed car, but also his Citroen works teammate Dani Sordo and the French manufacturer's third driver Philippe Bugalski.

I drove it (Citroen DS3 WRC) one time last year but it was only a little drive. This week in France I will get the chance of a proper test on gravel roads,” commented Loeb prior to test-driving the car for a couple of days, in France, according to wrc.com.
