So you like the Skoda Kodiaq but think it's a little dull? You're in luck, because SEAT now has a sister car called the Tarraco, which you can buy from £28,320 OTR in the UK.
During the launch event last month, it was announced that the Tarraco would come to Britain only as a 7-seater crossover. Unfortunately, you can get the Kodiaq with the same number of seats a little cheaper: £26,750. The two have very similar specifications and also share their base engine.

This is the 1.5 TSI Evo making 150 horsepower. The same powertrain costs £29,330 for the SE Tech; £30,410 for Xcellence and £32,135 for Xcellence LUX. Your other powertrain choices are the 2.0 TSI 190 with standard DSG and AWD, the 2.0 TDI 150 with those things as options or a fully-loaded 2.0 TDI 190.

Metallic paint, Full Link, DAB, 17” alloy wheels, alarm, and three-zone climate control are part of the standard spec across all trim levels. Stepping up to the SE Technolgy brings darker 18-inch wheels and navigation while Xcellence includes things like a wireless charger, ACC, rear view camera, electric tailgate, 19-inch wheels, and Alcantara seats. If you want your SUV to look as good as the ones in the photos, know that leather and 20-inch alloys are reserved for the £32,135 flagship.

Richard Harrison, Managing Director of SEAT UK, said: “We are thrilled to close what has been a fantastic year for SEAT UK by opening for orders on our new flagship model, Tarraco. Our first-ever large SUV is a cracker, and the perfect way to complete our full range of SUVs, joining the multi-award winning Ateca and Arona. Tarraco is already turning heads with its eye-catching combination of fresh design language, state-of-the-art technology, and an enjoyably dynamic drive."

The Tarraco sits above the Ateca in SEAT's crossover range, It's based on the MQB-A LWB architecture and is assembled at the Wolfsburg factory in Germany, like a Golf. Perhaps its biggest quality is the fact that it takes design in a new direction, both inside and out.
