Aimed unashamedly at the company car market, SEAT has launched the Leon SE Technology Business model in Britain. It delivers the latest technology in a package that brings good value too.
The choice of engines is predictable: two TDI diesel units that offer the best fuel consumption in the range. The base unit is a 1.6-liter with 110 horsepower that delivers 74.3mpg and emits 99 grams of CO2 while a 150 hp 2-liter is available for those seeking more power.
The model will be initially available only as the ST (Sports Tourer), which has a large boot that can hold up to 586 liters of cargo without folding the rear bench. Prices start at £20,650 and orders can be placed already, with a cheaper 5-door to arrive in early 2016.
What makes this car different is the Technology Pack, comprising of satellite navigation, DAB audio system, and LED headlights. This equipment is added alongside adaptive cruise control and rear parking sensors for comfort and safety. The Leon Technology Business also brings the Convenience Pack, consisting of automatic headlights, rain sensor and auto dimming rear view mirror.
SEAT UK Head of Fleet and Business Sales, Peter McDonald, said: “The Leon has spearheaded our fleet sales drive over the last 18 months, but the SE Technology Business takes the model on to the next level when it comes to business use. An already impressive package has been made even more compelling, especially when value is such a key part of the equation, which it inevitably is whether the choice is down to the user-chooser or fleet manager.”
For slightly more money, the Leon ST SE Technology Business is available with the 2.0 TDI engine. This has 40 extra horsepower and a lot more torque, making it possible to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in only 8.4 seconds. Despite this, fuel consumption of 68.9mpg is possible, and the car emits just 106 grams per kilometer of CO2.
