SEAT FIVES Competition Looks for Future Soccer Stars

The British arm of SEAT kicked-off a nationwide five-a-side tournament searching for the next Beckham, Ronaldo, Gerrard, Lampard and Walcott. Overall winners of this competition will be offered, as the carmaker says, “a football trip of a lifetime.” The idea of setting up the SEAT FIVES tournament came after the Spanish brand was named the official presenting sponsor of the 2010 UEFA Europa League.

Moreover, VIP hospitality at the UEFA Europa League Final, accommodation in Hamburg and flights are all included in the tournament’s grand prize.

The challenge, however, will be pretty tough, as the participants will have to dribble, kick and score so they can move up to the qualifying rounds in February, before heading to the regional finals in March. After that comes the national final which is set to be held at Aston Villa’s Premiership venue, the Villa Park on April 13.

At the same time, a web-based Kicks & Tricks competition is also under way for over-14s who are being asked to submit video clips of their ‘freestyle football’ skills via Club SEAT website.

Club SEAT members will vote online to decide who will perform live at April’s SEAT FIVES final. The winner at that event will get to be a VIP spectator at the 2010 UEFA Europa League final in Germany.

“Both the SEAT FIVES competition and our exciting Kicks & Tricks contest are designed to underscore SEAT’s UEFA Europa League association in a fun and exciting way,” SEAT UK Retail Marketing Manager Adam Connelly said in a release.

“The grand prize of that ‘money can’t buy’ VIP trip to Hamburg for the UEFA Europa League Final in May is sure to get the attention of true footy fans and, should one of the British sides still in the competition make it all the way to Germany, I’m sure our winners will look forward to cheering them on to European glory!”
