Seat Exeo Gets Two New Engines

The recently launched Exeo range will expand in the following weeks with the addition of two new engines: the 2.0 TSI and the 2.0 TDI CR. The new engines will join the existing two petrol engines and two diesel units.

The 2.0 TSI, which develops 200 hp, will be offered in combination with an automatic sequential Multitronic gearbox and steering wheel shift paddles. The combination allows the Exeo to reach a top speed of 235 km/h (146 mph), after reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 7.3 seconds.

For the ST version, this engine will allow for a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph) and a naught to sixty acceleration in 7.6 seconds.

The new 2.0 TDI CR will become Seat's entry-level diesel for the Exeo range. It will develop only 120 hp (due to the different electronic engine management and lower turbo pressure than in the 143 hp version). As with any diesel, Seat praises the vehicle's fuel consumption: 5.3 l/100 km (44.3 mpg).

The Exeo line has also gained a few more features with the addition of the new engines. Customers can now enjoy the BOSE sound system with 10 precision speakers and MMI (Multimedia Interface) navigation system.

Exeo is being offered in three trim levels: Reference, Style and Sport, each adding to the others' list of standard options. Still, the entry-level trim brings features usually found in upper level trims: dual zone climate control, ABS + TCS, ESP, heated electric door mirrors, front/rear armrests with storage compartment, cruise control, Bluetooth, front seat manual height adjustment and CD radio with MP3 player.
