SEAT Bent 1+1 Concept Car

The concept was dreamed as a representation of the future driverless concept cars. The SEAT Bend 1+1 Concept is featured as vehicle which can be driven manually when required. The concept’s interior was dreamed in such a wayso it would allow greater interaction between the driver and the passengers when the car is in full auto mode.

Jonathan Medcalf-Robin dreamed the concept for his industrial design course at the Universidad de Coruna in Spain. The unique coupe concept displays a slight resemblance with models like the Audi TT and Infinity G35. The designer targeted the concept towards young couples in the range of 25-30 years old. The interior was thought in a very versatile and flexible way, thus the driver’s seat can be turned around in order to allow him to face the passengers without turning his head when the vehicle is in full auto mode.

Th interior resembles a lot with rock music, given the fact that the central console swoops out and embraces the seats, resembling a guitar’s neck. The modern design lines which are fitted with indirect lighting evoke the atmosphere of a night club or lounge.Even the name of the concept refers to music. The Bend technique can be applied on a guitar, or other stringed instruments and it refers to a specific way of bending the instrument, as related by automotto.com

The concept was thought to run on hydrogen fuel cells. Further technicals specifications regarding the engine were not provided by the designer although he does specify a horsepower range somewhere in between 150hp-250hp.
