The Spanish car market was the first to see the introduction of the facelifted Altea, following its release at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. This followed the changes first seen on the Leon at the time.
But, the changes were small considering no major restyling had taken place for the MPV that was first launched in 2004. While the Altea is a vehicle that’s elegant, safe and comfortable, there’s no denying these sorts of car have little appeal in Europe right now.

SEAT has a new Leon hatch coming, based on VW Group’s new MQB modular platform. This C-segment hatchback also introduces a new styling direction for the company, one which will surely also have to be used by the next Altea.

Thanks to automotive graphics manipulator Theophilus Chin, we can show just what this redesigned MPV might look like. The shape is based on the Leon but offers a taller glass surface and bigger rear overhang.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
