Scuddy, the Electric Trike

Europeans are growing quite fond of electric vehicles for personal transportation and even if Holland building the first electric highway for such bikes, Germany is no slacker. Here's Scuddy, a new, amazing electric 3-wheel scooter.

Just like we expected, Scuddy sports a foldable construction, being easily stowed away when not in use and occupying just a small space even when put into charging mode in your office. In fact, this is one of the most convenient features or such vehicles: riders can easily and quickly ready them prior to boarding a metro or shuttle train and thus can reach even more places.

Scuddy is offered in two versions, both powered by the same removable 512 Wh battery. The difference between the City and the Sport models is the motor: City comes with a 1kWh unit which can reach 20 km/h (12 mph) and provides a 40 km range (37 miles), while Sport has 1.5 kWh motor allowing you to do 35 km/h (22 mph) but obviously reducing the range accordingly.

Depending on the charger, Scuddy takes between 1 and 4 hours for a full charge. The front wheels are 12.5” with dependable disc brakes, while the 10” rear wheel has a regenerative drum brake.

The price is not that small, but if you consider riding a Scuddy on a daily basis for longer distances, it may prove very economical. Multiple accessories are also available, but LED lights and a mirror are standard. Both versions are available since mid-February, with Scuddy City priced €2,999 ($3,960) and Scuddy Sport €3,499 ($4,620).
