Less than one year ago I told you about the Scrooser, a nifty German electric scooter with tons of attitude and oozing original styling, and now it’s time for an even nicer follow-up story, as the machine is in the pre-production stage.
By far, the most intriguing feature of the Scrooser is its eye-catching design: minimalist and exceptionally clean, the shape of this machine is as inviting as it gets. The free-form 3D bending technology used for shaping the Scrooser allows its creators to come forth with fluid lines which appeal to both young and older riders, and ladies and gets, alike.

The extra-wide wheels smooth out the ride, while at the same time allowing the Scrooser to remain upright by itself when stopped. Further security is provided by the keyed ignition, side stand and locking cable.

Scrooser uses a direct drive rear hub motor which can also work in impulse mode, providing assistance as the rider pushes the scoot with the leg., just like he or she would aboard a traditional scooter. In fully-assisted mode, the Scrooser can provide a 35 km (22 miles) range, while the Eco mode impulse drive delivers 55 km (34 miles).

With an early-bird Kickstarter price of $3,950 (€3,030), we might see the Scrooser “in stores” for several hundreds more, and with even more cool features such as LED lights and a GPS locator beacon.
