Scirocco Street Racing, the APP Version

Perhaps one of the most notable additions to the Volkswagen range, the rebirth of the Scirocco, has become in no time the tuners' new muse. We have seen this past few months several Scirocco based projects. Just to count a few, we will remind you of the Scirocco versions signed by MTM, Mcchip, B&B and the list can go on and on and on...

This time, the guys over at Advanced Performance Parts Europe (APP) have put forth something a bit more...colorful. The APP Scirocco is the brainchild of the aforementioned tuner, backed by a number of other supporting partners: Rieger Tuning, KW Automotive, Wimmer Rennsporttechnik, CFC and MR Car Design. As all tuning projects, this one is also available for purchase. We will detail the prices as we go.

While no major alteration was made to the series engine, the use of skilled software upgrades now allow the Scirocco's engine to develop 261 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. Translate this into speed and you get a top velocity of 263 km/hour. The cost of the software upgrade stands at 2,500 euro. The overall power output is also increased by the use of a sport exhaust system (1,599 euros).

Leaving the hard part aside, APP took to the exterior of the Scirocco. The body kit, sourced from Rieger, consists of a front apron (599 euro), side skirts (328 euro) and a rear valance accretion (329 euro) with diffuser optics.

The body of the car stands on 19 inch, 3-part forged aluminum rims (the wheel set costs 5.200 euro) in bicolor design. Underneath them, a high performance brake system (4-pistons an two-part slotted discs size 355×32 mm), priced at 3,200 euros helps the APP Scirocco come to a standstill in as few meters as possible. To add to the reliability, the system is fitted with Stahlbus caliper air vent plug (another 109 euros).

We must say the APP Scirocco does look good, but that's a feature of the series car as well. Besides, you can't complain from lack of options. There are plenty of tuned Sciroccos to chose from. The tuning part for this one costs around 20,000 euros. Compare it to the other ones, do the math and buy it...
