Japanese manufacturer Toyota's brand Scion has announced pricing for the Scion xD Release Series 2.0, its limited production vehicle for 2009. The xD, which will become available later this month, starts at $14,650, some $1,270 over the price of the xD.
The Release Series 2.0 will be available in only in Electric Wasabi green exterior paint. The most striking feature of the xD can be found in the interior. The car features a 5.8-inch touchscreen Pioneer Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) head unit with flash memory, voice recognition and Bluetooth.
For the touch panel display, customer can choose from over 32,000 colors. The Pioneer AVN head unit is also satellite radio, rear view camera and HD Radio, which plays iPod videos, but only when the parking brake is engaged.
The interior is brightened with four-in-one interior lights, and “Release Series 2.0” door sills illuminated with white back lighting. The wheels cover is also unique to the limited production xD, as are the silver accented seat fabric and individually numbered badging.
The manufacturer plans to build only 1,600 units of the Release Series 2.0. As we said, the MSRP for the xD with a manual transmission has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price $14,650. For the version equipped with an automatic transmission, prices start at $15,450.
Additionally, if you'd like to buy the only available add-on, and that is the Electric Wasabi spoiler, you will have to pay an extra $285, not including installation. The manufacturer warns that the $670 delivery, processing and handling fee (DPH) are not included in the base price.
