Scion tC RS 8.0 - The Ultimate Release

While the standard Scion tC isn’t the most inspiring car around, in terms of design, the manufacturer has tried to give it more appeal with the latest Release Series (RS), the 8.0, or as they call it rather creatively, ‘the ultimate release’. The 8.0 will get a limited production run of 2,000 examples, and it features more than enough different features to make it interesting.
First off, all RS 8.0 cars will be painted in a special red color, called ‘Absolutely Red’ (they seem to want to inspire passion, in a similar manner to the presentation video for the new Clio). Aside from the paint scheme, it gets gloss-black mirrors and rims (18-inch), as well as a full body kit by Five Axis Design.

The 8.0 gets special lowered front and rear bumpers with special design, as well as lower side skirts. At the back, it gets one central exhaust which is very neatly integrated in the bottom of the bumper (a very nicely designed feature, we must admit). It also benefits from lower and stiffer springs, which lower the car’s stance and as well as giving it slightly sharper handling.

The Scion tC Release Series 8.0 costs $21,815, and the automatic gearbox (which also adds steering wheel-mounted paddles) will add an additional $1,050. Despite it being $3,240 more expensive than the standard tC, we definitely say it’s worth it, and considering the fact that it will be a rather exclusive car (for its class), we would recommend you give it a chance, if you are in the market for a car like this.
