Scion tC Release Series 5.0 Pricing

The Toyota owned company Scion has announced pricing for the only limited edition that will see the light of day this year, the tC Release Series 5.0 (RS 5.0). The tC RS 5.0 model will carry a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of  $19,300 for the manual transmission version and $20,100 for the automatic one; that's only $2,300 over the base series model. So if you who want it and think you can afford it, you should know not all of you will get one as Scion will only build 2,000 units of this limited edition.

The tC RS 5.0 will have a Toyota Racing Development (TRD) theme and will be available at dealer showrooms in March. Until then, if you wanna get a look, the 2009 model will be on display in the Scion space at the Chicago Auto Show. The 2009 tC RS 5.0 features gloss black exterior paint and numerous performance products from TRD. TRD edition 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, in matte black with red trim, and red TRD lowering springs provide this tC with its get-out-of-my-way look.

For additional stability when cornering, the tC is fitted with a TRD rear sway bar. A TRD sport muffler gives the tC RS 5.0 an aggressive sound signature, while a TRD exterior badge marks the car. On the inside, the TRD theme can be seen in the black leather steering wheel featuring red stitching, black seats with red accents and floor mats.

Toyota's baby Scion set its goals on appealing to Generation Y consumers. Scion grew from Toyota Project Genesis, a failed effort to bring younger buyers to the Toyota marque in the United States. Scion was first introduced in March 2002, at the New York Auto Show. There were just two concept vehicles, the bbX (which was to become the xB), and the ccX, which was to become the tC.
