Scion tC Release Series 5.0 Gets Real in Chicago

Despite the fact that most automakers prefer to debut new models and lure people into their new product lineups, Scion adopts the same strategy as last year and debuts a customized tC, this time codenamed Release Series 5.0. What's so special about it? you may ask. Well, you should first know the manufacturer will only produce 2,000 units of the series, with pricing said to start at approximately $19,000.

Secondly, the car boasts a gloss black exterior paint with numerous TRD (Toyota Racing Development) parts, including 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, in matte black with red trim and red TRD lowering springs. In addition, the manufacturer installed a red TRD rear sway bar for additional stability while cornering and a TRD sport muffler for a more aggressive look. Obviously a TRD
badge was installed on the rear side of the car to differentiate this model from the base product lineup. The interiors feature black leather steering wheel with red stitching and black seats with red accents.

Getting back to the price, Scion says the Release Edition 5.0 will add only $2,300 over the price of the base tC (the standard model costs around $17,000 with a manual transmission and nearly $17,800 with an automatic transmission). And optional black spoiler is sold for $285, without installation costs.

For those of you who already dream about driving this special edition tC, find out that Scion will officially release the product in early March. Only 2,000 units will be rolled out so, if you're hoping to snatch one of these models, you should better hurry up finding an authorized Scion dealership.
