Schumacher to Meet Manager in Stuttgart

Michael Schumacher may be taking some time off Formula One lately, while enjoying some quality time karting with former teammate Felipe Massa, but the German is due to resume business in a matter of days, according to German newspaper Bild Zeitung.

It seems the German driver is scheduled to have a meeting with his long-time manager Willi Weber on Monday, in order to discuss the prospect of switching to Mercedes GP team next season. The 40-year old has been consistently linked with such a move in the international media, despite his ongoing commitment with Ferrari.

However, as it emerged in the Italian press last week, it seems the 7-time world champion did not necessarily sign a 3-year extension with the Maranello based outfit. The company's spokesman Luca Colajanni failed to give a definitive answer on these allegations, hinting that Schu's new contract with the Scuderia has been more like a spoken one, rather than put on paper.

As revealed by the aforementioned publication, the place in which Schumacher is scheduled to have the meeting with his manager is also very important, as it's none other than the city of Stuttgart, where Daimler AG – owners of Mercedes-Benz – have been headquartered since forever.

I cannot imagine that he goes to Mercedes (in 2010). He only recently extended with Ferrari for another three years as advisor,” Weber is quoted as saying prior to the meeting, insisting that Schumacher has no intention of switching sides prior to the 2010 season.

Ross Brawn and Mercedes GP already announced one driver for their 2010 campaign – Nico Rosberg – and told the media that they are likely to close a deal for the second seat by Christmas time.
