Schumacher Still Racing Superbikes in France

Although he renounced to make his Formula One comeback last month due to his precarious physical condition, Michael Schumacher was spotted testing a two-wheeler with the German Superbike team Holzhauer at the Circuit de Bresse in France.

Earlier this week, Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm revealed that the 40-year old German will not attend the IDM German Superbike round at the Hockenheimring – the very season finale of the German series – in order to make it to the Italian Grand Prix, at Monza, in Formula One. When confronted by the media regarding the German's motorcycle outing this week, Kehm insisted it was not such a big deal.

It was purely a private motorcycle test with friends. And it was not his first ride since the accident (in February). Michael has a lot of fun driving motorcycles and that is not going to change,” confirmed Kehm for German newspaper Bild.

The former Ferrari-an crashed out during a testing session with the same Holzhauer team prior to this year's IDM championship, as this accident resulted in severe trauma to his neck. Although he has undergone a long recovery programme ever since, that part of his body never healed completely following the February incident.

In the meantime, Schumacher left France for Vallelunga on Tuesday, as he attended the eSafety Challenge 2009 event – founded by the International Automobile Federation and hosted by ACI – alongside Ferrari's newly-signed Giancarlo Fisichella. Schu will remain in Italy for the remainder of the week, as he confirmed his presence at the Ferrari pit wall during the Sunday race at Monza.
