Schumacher Still Enjoys F1 Despite 2010 Struggles

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher has been intensively criticized for his performances in the 2010 Formula One season, despite the fact that he returned to racing after 3 years of complete separation from the racing world. The most successful man in the history of the sport has been practically unrecognizable this year, ranking 18th in overall mistakes (from 24 drivers) and scoring his worst ever F1 finish, P15.

On top of that, he failed to score a single podium in 19 races, another negative premiere in his book. Despite the constant struggles experienced inside the Mercedes W01 – which he later admitted suffered from great issues, only he decided to keep it inside the team – Schu continues to look hopeful for the future.

I certainly want to make it a successful return,” said Schu in a recent interview with CNN, hinting that he's aiming for a turnaround of the hole he dug himself into in 2010.

I'm only happy if I'm back on the winning road with the team. This is what I'm working for, this is the joy of the passion for Formula 1,” he added. Needless to say, winning races leads to winning titles, and that's clearly his final goal for the remaining 2 seasons of contract with Mercedes.

Another good news for the 41-year old is that, despite the criticism and the bad publicity he was subject to the past season, his joy for driving an F1 car at a competitive level has remained untouched, something that will undoubtedly help him for the future.

I enjoy it. I feel I have the right to do what I enjoy. Whether I put in dispute my reputation...I just feel good about my decision and I have so much support from people.”
