Schumacher's 1994 Title-Winning Renault for Sale on eBay

We know that this may come as a worthless piece of information to most of you, but the car that Michael Schumacher raced to his first ever Formula One title was put up for auction on eBay's German website. And it's not like you won't be interested in purchasing the item – a historical piece of machinery – but the price is likely to reach 7-digit figures in the upcoming few days.

As most of you already know by now, the title-winning car used by Schumacher back in 1994 was the Benetton B194. The title itself was somehow controversial, as it was won by a single point to British driver Damon Hill.

For those of you who remember, Benetton's 1994 campaign was quite controversial in terms of technical regulations. The team was caught by the FIA when using illegal skidblocks during the Belgian Grand Prix, an infraction that led to Schumacher's disqualification from the aforementioned race. In all, Schu won 9 out of 17 races that year and clinched his first title under the management of Flavio Briatore.

This is a B194 made by Benetton equipped with a Ford-Cosworth Zetec-R 3.5 litres V8 engine. The car is in condition as in the 1994 Formula One season with paddle shift and traction control. The car is in racing condition, with the painting and sponsoring scheme as in 1994,” sounds the brief description of Schumacher's 1994 title-winning Renault.

The engine was overhauled by Langford Performance Engineering / Wellingborough (UK) and was since then just running a few minutes for test and check reasons,” added the announcement.

The car is currently located in Toronto, Canada, and the bidders will have to wait until November 16 (next Monday). Bidding has already exceeded 2.5 million euros.
