Schumacher Keeps on Training for Potential Return

After announcing that Michael Schumacher will be training at home despite canceling his Formula One return – and not ruling out a potential comeback from the 40-year old German in the near future after all – manager Willi Weber today reiterated his belief that Schu is not out of the F1 equation yet.

Talking to German newspaper Bild the German manager revealed that Schumacher has no intention of stopping his training programme, especially since the latest events in Formula One demonstrated nothing is for sure in the Great Circle. You never know when the phone's going to ring and one has to be prepared to step into the F1 cockpit. And that seems to be the line Schu is prepared to follow in the upcoming months.

Michael thinks 'I am back in the rhythm so I might as well stay in it,” admitted Weber for the aforementioned source.

Before finding out that his neck problems will prevent him from making his Formula One return, Schu had undergone an intense training programme that was to get him into shape by the start of this week's European Grand Prix. He even admitted having lost 3 kilograms in the process.

Luca Badoer, who joined the German driver for most of the time during the last few days of training, shared with the reporters in Spain just how much Michael wanted to make his Formula One return.

He was really pushing very hard. He was training a lot, he spent a lot of time (doing that) because he wanted to come back. He did everything, he tried everything, he lost three kilos in seven days, he was really pushing one hundred per cent because it was sort of his dream to come back and drive in formula one again,” said Badoer during the official press conference at Valencia, on Thursday.
