Schumacher Doesn't Rule Out F1 Return in the Future

Michael Schumacher today revealed that the only thing on his mind right now is how to deal with the disappointment of not being able to complete his return to Formula One. During a press conference at Geneva, the 40-year old German did not dismiss nor confirm whether he's still thinking of driving for Ferrari later in the season.

You can imagine that I obviously do feel kind of frustrated and quite sad because due to the circumstances I wasn't exactly expecting to be ready, but because of what happened I was obviously available to support the team and everybody,” started Schumacher his press conference.

He insisted that he didn't know how exactly his body would react to the stress of driving a Formula One car unless actually driving it. The multitude of simulations are not capable of producing the same forces as a Formula One car, and so he had to first drive the Ferrari F2007 and only after evaluate his medical condition.

He also dismissed the claims that he could have prepared better for his Formula One return, insisting that he didn't even think about returning to the sport prior to Massa's unfortunate accident. Under the circumstances, everyone did the best they could do to make sure he'll be physically ready for racing.

When asked how he feels about the possibility of maybe returning later in the season, on the condition his neck problems will slowly disappear, Schu was quite vague.

Speculation in this business is pretty natural. Lots of people have their own opinions and thoughts but the fact of the matter is that I'm very disappointed not to do what I was looking to do. That's all that I'm really thinking about and have to digest somehow,” added the German driver.
