Schumacher 100 Percent Fit for Race of Champions

He may not be ready for a potential Formula One return in the near future, but Michael Schumacher is sure ready to show the world that he still has what it takes to fight for the win in the much awaited Race of Champions (ROC) at Beijing's Birds Nest Stadium.

This will be the first time the event will take place in China, after previous outings at Stade de France stadium in Paris and Wembley Stadium in London. Schu is a constant competitor in the event, but has so far missed out on the title in the individual challenge. In the Nations Cup, however, the German ace recorded back-to-back wins in 2007 and 2008, both alongside compatriot Sebastian Vettel.

The pair will continue to compete for Team Germany this year also, as the opening day schedules the action in the Nations Cup.

Despite Schumacher's health related problems earlier this year – a neck injury prevented him from making his announced comeback in Formula One – the RoC organizers confirmed that the Ferrari-an will be more than fit to tackle the 2-day event next week. After all, we're not talking about an intense one hour and a half of F1 racing, but some relaxed one-minute outings.

Michael is in very good shape and will be physically ready for the race. He is practising and still has the ability to find top form before races. As long as there is a circuit, he is able to drive and win,” said the organizers, according to the China Daily newspaper.

Following his failed comeback in F1, Schumacher's manager Willi Weber confirmed that his client would continue to train and get physically fit for a potential motorsport commitment, although he was at the time referring to a potential return to superbikes.
