The tie-up between Harley- Davidson and Marvel has reached a new milestone as MoCo’s latest concept, the electric concept called LiveWire is starring in the upcoming Avengers movie, Age of Ultron.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will debut in theaters on May 1st, 2015 and will have Hollywood belle Scarlett Johansson playing the role of Black Widow. Back in 2009, Johansson signed a deal to play Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in multiple films, including Iron Man, The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Romanoff is famous for her dark past and future intimate relationship with Captain America (you’ll learn about that later on). We could speculate that this is why Rogers, who we saw riding a Harley in previous movies, has relinquished the motorcycle stunt scenes to the heroine. The trailer also shows the Black Widow wielding the shield, while behind the bars of the LiveWire, but the context doesn’t reveal too much as to what’s going on in the scene.

SciFi brings modern Harleys and futuristic heroes together

The marketing stunt the house of Milwaukee pulled this time adds even more credit to the LiveWire. To be honest, it’s really neat seeing a futuristic world with superheroes riding modern, “age-correct” if you wish, motorcycles. This could help Harley enthusiasts ease up a bit into accepting the fact that even the MoCo will one day follow the e-bike trend and reveal a production version electric motorcycle.

The LiveWire is still looked at with suspicion by traditional Harley fans, as it brings a very radical approach to a motorcycle manufacturer famed for the conservative approach to the industry. At the same time, even though the first tests indicate a bike that feels nimble despite its fairly big weight. Even more, Harley still has a lot of range-related work to do, as the LiveWire is only good for some 30 miles (48 km) or so.

Have fun watching this new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer and wait patiently for the next ones, as we’re definitely in for more such excerpts during the 5 months remaining until the premiere. Harley can even upgrade the whole LiveWire by then. Oh, and since we’re in the electric bike realm, do check these amazing batteries which could change the e-bike game.
