Sand Beige Mansory Mercedes-AMG G 63 Is a Widebody Tank

Like so many exclusive tuners, Mansory was probably looking forward to the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. And it's a shame the event got closed because we would have loved to see a project like this, the new G 63 sporting their new body kit.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this build is the paint. Mansory says this is Sand Beige. Now, Mercedes had something called that about half a century ago, but it was metallic. So this must be borrowed from the classic air-cooled Porsches.

Regardless, it's a lot like the Desert Sand offered though the Designo program and makes the mighty G-Class look like a war machine, conjuring up images of the M1 Abrams in the Iraq war.

Of course, the German SUV sports a number of other changes. Just looking at it from the front, it's easy to spot that Mansory has made its own carbon fiber hood.

Also, the G 63 sports redesigned front and rear bumpers with skirt attachments made from carbon fiber, huge fender flares, and extra air scoops. These make it look a little more modern and sporty.

The blacked-out Panamericana grille is also a nice touch, but the 24-inch Y-spoke wheels seem a little large for an off-roader. Viewed from the back, this project car shows its new spare wheel cover, inserts for the bumper, and a small spoiler on top of the roof.

Mansory's red cover can also be seen when the hood is popped, which means the engine was modified. Normally, the G 63's 4.0-liter twin-turbo makes 577 horsepower (585 PS), but the tuned setup with custom exhaust and intakes has a more impressive output of 710 horsepower.

With supercar levels of power, this 4x4 is supposedly capable of reaching 62 mph in 4.3 seconds and maxes out at 149 mph (240 kph). A very similar build is on sale right now for about $360,000 in Europe. But this one looks like it was made to order.
