With all the buzz and excitement surrounding the Paris Auto Show which kicks off next week, the Americans are trying to fight back by remembering that they do have some more auto shows programmed for this year.
In San Francisco, the 53rd annual International Auto Show, one of the largest in California, will open its doors on November 20 and will keep them open until November 28. The display period is to be filled, if you are to judge by the promises made by the organizers, with exciting premieres and a “spectacular auto show.”
The event is being supported by the California New Car Dealers Association and will take place at the Moscone Convention Center. According to the organizers, no less than 600 vehicles will be on display for the duration of the event, representing 25 manufacturers.
The brands to display at the event comprise most important carmakers, including Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Lotus, Mazda, Nissan, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.
Being an event held in California, a special attention will be payed to alternative powered models, meaning hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles. The show will be adorned with side events like the Academy of Art University Classic Car Collection, the Aftermarket Alley with tricked-out vehicles and aftermarket products, the AAA Greenlight Showcase and Dominator Hot Rods.
The event is expected to generate important traffic, with some 350,000 to pass through its doors. This makes the San Francisco Auto Show the second largest auto show in the western United States.
